Oregon Public Networking

Lane County is home to about a quarter million people, served by local government and a great network of nonprofit organizations. It has been said that there are more nonprofit organizations, per capita, in Eugene than anywhere in the United States.

The quality of life of our mid-size town, surrounded by the most beautiful country on Earth, the cultural resources of a university town, and a state law code that favors nonprofits and their boards -- all these and many more factors lead to the burgeoning "third sector" that OPN serves.

OPN offers classes to help nonprofits take best advantage of new technologies. We accept donations of used computers for passing on to other charities and nonprofits.

Our nonprofits number over 400, with over 500 accounts. About a third of them have created web pages to bring their charitable missions to the Internet.

OPN helps analyze any nonprofit's technology needs. We teach classes in website design issues specific to nonprofit organizations.

Welcome to Oregon Public Networking.
We are citizens using advanced technology to build an aware creative community using the open internet.
